How did you both meet and how did the proposal occur?

We met through a mutual friend, the Bride’s Maid of Honour, Bobbie on an evening out at the University of Reading. Emir proposed to Holly in Lindos, Rhodes. A special place to Holly and her family. Both of our families had joined us on holiday and we had had a gorgeous dinner altogether before Emir proposed.

What did you love the most about South Lodge?

We loved the picturesque views and calming environment. The whole process ran so smoothly and we will always have a place to go back to in which we can experience all that South Lodge has to offer and reminisce about our special day.

Did you have a particular theme or particular style for your day?

We chose an elegant, classic theme and a nude / neutral colour scheme.

Tell us about the dress!

The dress was made by Essence of Australia, Holly chose it a whole year and half before the big day and had to wait a year between buying the dress and trying on her actual one again at her first fitting! It had an overskirt, a train on the main part of the dress, which could also be bustled, so three dresses in one.

Were there any special moments on the day itself that made it unique & personal?

We were so impressed with the level of attention that the staff at South Lodge gave to us as guests. No request was ever too much and they were all so polite and respectful. It made us feel so comfortable and welcome.

What do you remember most about the day itself?

All of our guests as well as ourselves were over the moon throughout the whole day. There was never any worries or concerns, the day was perfect.

What tips would you give to couples starting their wedding planning journey?

Give yourselves plenty of time to plan your day, it will be here before you know it and in order to get all of the suppliers you want you will need to book them in advance! I would also recommend doing as much of it together as you can, it really makes the day more special when you have both had an input.
