Faith and Calum
Faith and Calum enjoyed the most wonderful day here at Royal Berkshire. Let's hear all about it.

How did you both meet and how did the proposal occur?
We met on Tinder (but we actually went to school down the road from each other and had mutual friends). Calum proposed to me at a hotel in Godalming during the second lockdown. This was the regional lockdown when different areas were going to level 4 at different times. By unbelievable luck, Godalming stayed at level 2 until the day we were due to leave so Calum was able to propose. We had a gorgeous private dinner where Calum got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.
What did you love most about Royal Berkshire?
1.The staff. They were so welcoming and accommodating. Emails were replied to promptly and nothing was too much of an ask. Everyone was so attentive on the day and made us feel at ease knowing everything was under control.
2. Having the option to have exclusive use of the venue. This meant that we could relax and enjoy the whole venue. We knew that it was a popular hotel and with the nice weather, there could have been people enjoying a drink or afternoon tea, so we wanted the place to ourselves!
3. The grounds. People were able to take a wander at leisure or play cricket (a highlight for the kids).
Did you have a theme or particular style for the day?
Modern chic.
Dusty pink, sage and off-white tones were our colour scheme (from flowers to bridesmaid dresses).
I (the bride) love balloons so we incorporated that into the day with a MR & MRS balloon behind our seats on the top table and a huge balloon arch for guests to take polaroid pictures with for our guest book.
Tell us all about the outfits...
The dress was everything I wanted to be and more. I always knew I wanted sleeves and firstly imagined lace sleeves, but after trying on lots of dresses I found the one.
My dress was very simple at the front-a high neck, long plain sleeves and a fitted bodes, but it had a sheer back and lots of sequin work with buttons running all the way down the back of the train. I also had a long simple veil to accompany it.
What do you remember most about the day itself?
Getting married and having all of our family and friends there to share the magical day with us-from enjoying the grounds, the amazing food (having so many different options to pick from) and dancing the night away.
Were there any special moments or surprises?
Royal Berkshire allowing us to adapt the exclusive use package to how we wanted the day to go. For example changing our welcome drinks to Pimm’s and beer instead of champagne.
What tips or advice would you give to future couples?
Trust your suppliers as they will always recommend you on the best and are very experienced.
Try and not stress about the small details as it will all come together.
Know the Royal Berkshire have it all in hand, so be in the moment and enjoy every moment of your special day!
