Our story

Nestled in the Surrey countryside, Pennyhill Park is an ivy-clad country home, restored and furnished to its full glory and opened as a hotel in 1972.
Ever since then, the team have been committed to making Pennyhill Park a haven of relaxation for all.

Our history
400 years in the making
Pennyhill Park boasts a rich and fascinating history stretching back to 1609, when it was first recorded as a beacon warning site to herald the arrival of the Spanish Armada.
Over the years, the site has had many illustrious owners, including a rector, a civil engineer and a chairman of the war office committee. Reportedly, it even served as a rest house for officers during World War One.
Pennyhill Park opened as a hotel, it has been evolving into the impressive and extensive country house hotel you see today.
