As one of the only restaurants in the UK where every dish is smoked or cooked by woodfire, The Wellhouse is an intrepid flavour adventure. A truly social occasion with a menu designed for sharing, plus local wines, ales, Lainston’s own sparkling cider and our homegrown cocktails – including ‘shandygaffs’, a forgotten (but delicious!) English shandy.
Set in the original, listed wellhouse building, this rustic-luxe setting is the perfect spot for a relaxed dinner, or a fabulous party for those who choose to book the entire restaurant exclusively.

Head Chef, Tom Lampitt
Having trained in a classical style, Chef Tom Lampitt now specialises in cooking with fire - woodfired ovens, charcoal barbecues and smokers, creating menus inspired by the kitchen garden harvest. He is also instrumental in the management and teaching at Season, our cookery school.
