How did you both meet and how did the proposal occur?

We met each other at college in 2014 where my best friend and his best friend introduced us to each other. We got talking for a while but it wasn’t until Rob asked me to be his girlfriend for the third time that I actually said yes!

We had booked to go to Walt Disney World in 2020 and I had a strong feeling Rob would propose to me there. I was correct in thinking he was going to but unfortunately the holiday got cancelled due to covid. Rob decided he didn’t want to wait any longer to propose to me and on Christmas Day 2020 he made a secret plan with my sister to propose the following day. We went for a family walk in a local park and that’s where Rob got down on one knee and asked me to marry him, it was the biggest but best shock of my life.

What did you love most about Fanhams Hall?

We loved everything about Fanhams Hall, from the beautiful grounds to the stunning Long Gallery and Great Hall.

We loved that we could have our whole wedding in one place and that our family and friends could stay at the venue.

The staff at Fanhams were just incredible. Symphonie was there for us from the minute we booked our wedding to the day before we said I do. Rachel and her team were superstars on the day, it all ran so smoothly and we had the most perfect day thanks to them.

Did you have a theme or particular style for the day?

We didn’t really specify a theme but I would say we went for a romantic and rustic look. Our main colour was blush pink with a few hints of gold and some greenery.

We had lots of petals lining the aisle and log slices with petals, gypsophila and fairy lights for our centre pieces.

Lots of little hints of Disney as we’re both big Disney fans!

Tell us all about the dress...

I tried on around 20 dresses before finding the one. The third time I went dress shopping, I took my Mum, Sister, Nanny and Mother In Law. As we approached the shop I saw the most beautiful, sparkly, dress on the mannequin in the window and we all fell in love with it. I tried a few other dresses on first and saved that one until last, the second I put it on I fell in love, everyone was crying and I just knew that was the dress I wanted to walk down the aisle in. It was a ball gown style dress which had a lace bodice with a low v back and a stunning glittery skirt. I paired it with a cathedral length veil for that true princess look.

What do you remember most about the day itself?

Everything, it was just the most perfect day, everything we had dreamed of and more. We love reminiscing on our special day by looking through all of our photos and watching our videos.

My favourite part of the day was the ceremony in the beautiful long gallery, I’ll never forget walking down that aisle and marrying the love of my life.

We didn’t stop smiling all day and so many of our guests told us that it was the best wedding they had ever been to. Everyone had so much fun, from the ceremony all the way through to the end of the night. Also, the food was delicious!

Were there any special moments or surprises?

We booked surprise singing waiters to perform after our wedding breakfast and speeches, they were absolutely brilliant and really got the party started. Our guests were SO surprised by them but everyone had so much fun!
Booking them was a funny story as I tried to book them as a surprise for Rob and he tried to book them as a surprise for me, so we had to tell each other!

We also had a little plot twist during our first dance which we had been planning for ages with our hen and stag parties. Halfway through the song we had our DJ drop it into ‘We Like To Party – Vengaboys’, the lights were turned off and everyone in on the plan came to join us on the dancefloor to dance with massive foam glow sticks. It was such a good way to get everyone up on the dance floor and it stayed full all night!

What tips or advice would you give to future couples?

Be as organised as possible and have a big to-do list with everything you could possibly think of on it.

Try not to stress about the little things. At the end of the day, as long as you marry the love of your life then you’ve achieved what you set out for. Anything else is a bonus.
