Heritage rooms have a regal atmosphere. These ones, tucked away in the mews cottages, you walk through the door and feel transported in time.

Each room has tremendous character – the intricate wood panelling, the exuberant wallpapers, perhaps a towering four-poster bed.

There’s treating yourself, and there’s treating yourself. Run a bath, batten down the hatches and forget everything outside these walls.
